Producer, arranger, vocalist, sound artist and trumpet player, Anita Eccleston keeps busy. A dedicated educator in Vancouver, she spends her spare time nurturing creative endeavours. Trained in classical and jazz (McGill) her versatility is exemplified by the many ensembles she performs with including orchestras, jazz, mariachi, salsa and blues bands. As asolo artist she has led her band at Canadian Music Week, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival and countless other events over the years.
With vocal jazz, indie pop, and instrumental lofi jazz albums under her belt, Anita’s music has been played on CBC Music and Campus/Community Radio stations across Canada. Her 2024 holiday album Winter Gala charted on !earshot National: Top 50 (#21), Electronic (#3), Jazz (#5).

Family is important to Anita Eccleston. As the youngest of seven kids, she grew up surrounded by a flurry of activity. Music was a constant in the household, the living room piano a mainstay. A hand-me-down trumpet became her voice in her formative years, and
later as a vocalist she kept a horn in her hands while crooning all her favourite jazz tunes.
Looking through old photo albums, she noticed that over the years the Eccleston family were the stars of her life. Giving unwavering support, they’ve undoubtedly been her most important influences. Family Christmases in Kamloops, epic concerts in Vancouver and Montreal. There was family with her every step of the way.
Anita’s latest projects are instrumental electronic beats infused with trumpet and layered vocal pads. Her new instrumental single, “Family” has all the warmth and love she received from her family and friends on her recent wedding day. The magical fullness of love in the room that day, felt by all, outpoured from her heart into song.
A hummed refrain hints at the routines of ordinary days, a mother folding laundry or a walk in the park. The groove settles into a serene vibe, feeling like a laid-back afternoon, watching sunset colours transforming into evening. Compact trumpet interjections lead to an expansive horn solo, shimmering like a starlit sky. A curious synth refrain sounds aloft, smiling curiously to an embracing choral culmination.
“Family” feels like a journey of growth and change, all while staying inevitably the same.
