Black/White/McRae/Styffe

The Black/White/McRae/Styffe Quartet is guaranteed to be blowing some of the hottest jazz of the entire festival. Victorian- turned-Vancouverite Miles Black, one of Canada’s finest and most sensitive jazz pianists, needs no introduction. Scott White, a superb acoustic bassist, moved from Victoria to Berlin in 1997 and tours Europe in a number of different jazz ensembles. Saxman Roy Styffe has been a key player on the local scene for many years, and drummer James McRae will anchor the group with his customary power and finesse. These players have known each other for decades and will present a swinging and melodically brilliant evening of classic jazz.
