The Skeleton Park Yard Sale and Block Party is back
Last year, the Skeleton Park (McBurney Park) neighbourhood hosted its first annual yard sale and block party, hosting hundreds of visitors for a day of pop-up sales, musical parades and lemonade stands. This event is about more than clearing out your old hockey gear or getting a great deal on a toaster (though we hope you get that deal). It’s about connecting neighbours, supporting local organizations, and celebrating the creative, community spirit of Skeleton Park.
As community organizer, Nico Koenig, says, “It’s a party, it’s a yard sale, it’s a concert. We’ll have something for everyone.”
- Saturday, September 26, 2026 | 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Rain date: Sunday, September 27
- Location: Throughout the Skeleton Park neighbourhood
Event organizer, Echo Perry-Cumberland, says, “This year, we’ve built in new ways for folks to get involved. Whether you live in the neighbourhood or not, we hope you’ll join us to sell your stuff, pick up some new treasures, or just enjoy the atmosphere!”
Here are the ways Kingstonians can get involved:
Wander & Explore: Stroll through the neighbourhood and discover dozens of unique yard sales and pop-up tables.
Donate Your Stuff: Support Elizabeth Fry Kingston by contributing good quality items to their sale tables—proceeds go toward empowering women and families in our community. Drop off your stuff at Elizabeth Fry at 127 Charles St., Kingston on Friday September 19 or the morning of the 20th.
Host Your Own Sale: Live in the area? Set up your own sale or give-away and join the neighbourhood-wide treasure hunt.
Join a Sale Hub: Not a local, or simply want to be in a more centralized location? No problem! Email us to secure your spot.
The day will also feature entertainment presented by the Skeleton Park Arts Festival. Trash Panda Brass Band will be performing alongside other local artists. Trash Panda Brass is an all-queer, high-energy brass band who "retools the art of busking into a kind of amazing outdoor ambush".
The day will close with the annual movie screening in McBurney Park, presented by the Skeleton Park Arts Festival. This year’s film will be Spirited Away, a family-friendly critically acclaimed 2001 Japanese animated fantasy film by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli.
The Yard Sale & Block Party is coordinated by the McBurney Park Neighbourhood Association, Elizabeth Fry Kingston, the Skeleton Park Arts Festival, and many community partners and volunteers.
