The Kingston Arts Council (KAC) is excited to announce the launch of its new membership program, designed to connect and support the arts sector in Kingston, Ontario. This initiative offers artists and supporters unique opportunities to engage with the local arts sector, access valuable resources, and contribute to the growth of Kingston’s creative economy.

Membership Benefits

The KAC membership program provides an array of exclusive benefits, including:

Access to the Arts & Entertainment Plan: Affordable health, dental, and insurance options tailored for creatives.

Pocket Gallery Exhibition Opportunities: The Pocket Gallery (previously known as UNIT 115) is a small gallery space located in the foyer of the KAC office. KAC Members can apply for paid exhibition opportunities through this new program.

Business Discounts: Special discounts and perks at local businesses.

KAC Member Directory: Members will be included in the KAC Member Directory, a fully navigable database of local artists housed on the KAC website. KAC Members can promote their work to local businesses and community members, advertise freelance services, and promote upcoming events through this new digital resource.

Exclusive Member Events: Participate in Members-only events and programs at KAC, including networking opportunities, peer-to-peer incubator meetings, and more!

Exclusive Member Communications: Receive quarterly member newsletters with updates about the KAC, the membership program, and other industry news. Plus, participate in optional polls and questionnaires to have your say in shaping KAC’s future.

Additional benefits will be introduced in Phase 2 and Phase 3 of this program, informed by engagement from participating members. This is a non-voting membership tier; members will not count towards quorum or have a vote at KAC’s Annual General Meeting, but members will engage with KAC and help inform creative decisions through polls, events, and other communications channels.

Flexible Pricing Options

Memberships are designed to eliminate financial barriers and provide access to all artists. The program offers three pricing tiers:

- KAC Annual Membership: a standard flat rate of just $40/year;

- Pay What You Can (PWYC) Membership: choose your own rate; and

- Free Membership: no cost, and no questions asked!

These options ensure that every artist, regardless of financial circumstances, can participate and benefit from the program.
