With the Grand OnStage presentation of the captivating street dance performance In My Body set for Thursday, November 30, the city-run group is offering a special discount for members of Kingston's dance community.

With regular ticket prices for the performance ranging from $19.50 each to $39.50 each, Grand OnStage is offering Kingston dancers and dance companies 50% off the price of each ticket when purchased online (web link) using this promotional code: IMBLive

Choreographed by dancer Crazy Smooth with original music by DJ Shash’U, In My Body explores the multi-generational dynamic and hardship of aging in street dancing. The performance features a cast ten dancers from Bboyizm, an award-winning Canadian street dance company renowned for its authentic portrayal of the street dance genre, and for promoting its foundation and culture. Their original dance performances have been described as "electrifying."

In My Body links the culture of hip-hop with a multi-generational company of dancers, highlighting personal stories of survival, triumph, and defeat drawn from interviews conducted with the dancers.

Kingston professional contemporary dance artist Kay Kenney of Ottawa Dance Directive and Social Growl Dance (Toronto) will be hosting a special post-show talkback. Kay has taught, created, and performed across Ontario, Quebec, and Europe, and founded Movement Market Collective in 2016, a group that supports and celebrates local, professional dance in Kingston.

Grand OnStage is a curated season of professional performances presented annually by the City of Kingston's Cultural Services Department at the Kingston Grand Theatre.
