Over the past few years, Arachnia has been carving out their place in Kingston’s vast music scene. Originating as a three piece band consisting of Evan Kluwak on guitar, Zedan Grant-Cochrane on drums and Paige Vaughan on guitar and lead vocals, they formed as an a group of teenagers formed in the tailend of 2022, playing originals with a few covers. Starting off as an underground band in dingy studios, Arachnia spent years building connections and making friends with bands, artists, promoters and more from far and wide.
Arachnia saw a bit of change over the course of 2025, with them seeing a line-up change, temporarily going back to the 3 core members before adopting Java Nurcahyo on bass. They also received an endorsment with The Riff Mountain and Eart Guitars around the same time, putting new tools of destruction in the hands of Paige and Evan.
Over the years, the sound of Arachnia has evolved and taken form, and continues to with an ever growing catalog of music adopting influences from across the metal subgenres and music in general. From a fierce range of screams and growls, thunderous drums, thrashing guitars and pulverizing bass, to soothing percussion, soft cries, and gently whaling strings, there is something for everyone to enjoy, while never losing the Arachnia feel.
While having no release's yet, Arachnia does boust a very loyal and dedicated fanbase who have spread the word and helped the band grow, and even start getting out of Kingston. Each member has a deep passion and love for music that seems to relate to their fans. From Evan's remarkable tones, Zedan's brutal assault of the drum kit, Paige's raw energy and aggression, and Java's crushing bass, the Arachnia experience is true and authentic with an oldschool feel.
