This young group of Juilliard Jazz students is touring Canada in celebration of Oscar Peterson, including his Canadiana Suite.

Allison Lee is a bassist from Vancouver, BC. Lee has performed at various music festivals, including the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival and MusicFest Canada. When she isn’t performing or practicing, Lee works as a marketing coordinator for Vancouver-based record label Rhea Records (co-founded by Jodi Proznick) and as an administrative assistant for the critically acclaimed New York City-based trio New Jazz Underground. Lee is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies at the Juilliard School.

Gustavo Cruz is a 20-year-old saxophonist, woodwind doubler, and composer from Cornelius, North Carolina. Cruz is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree at the Juilliard School. He has participated in prestigious programs such as NYO Jazz, the Brubeck Summit, and the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra.

Jackson Petty is an 18-year-old jazz guitarist and composer from Los Angeles, California. He began playing the guitar in the 2nd grade, mentored by his guitar-playing father. He is a Grand Prize Finalist in The Music Center’s Spotlight competition and a Winner With Distinction in jazz for YoungArts. He has performed across the country in various honour ensembles. Jackson currently attends the Juilliard School, a private performing arts conservatory in New York City, majoring in Jazz Guitar.

Beckett Miles, 20, is a drummer and percussionist from Jacksonville, Florida. Miles is an alumnus of NYO Jazz (2023), the Vail Jazz Workshop (2023), and the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra (2022). Miles continues to pursue Jazz Studies at the Juilliard School.
