2024 Calgary Folk Fest: Thursday Wrap-up (July 25, 2024)

It was one of those you had to be there moments — the gates had just opened yesterday to the 45th annual Calgary Folk Fest, and a gentle, refreshing rain had finished washing over the island. Within a few moments of the folkies flooding in and staking their tarps, the sky turned blue, and the sun emerged from the clouds to shrine bright all the way through 'til twilight.

It's the type of festival serendipity we are all too familiar with over the years, and with another sunny and clear forecast slated for Friday we're thrilled to open up the gates for Day 2 of music and magic on the island!
