Event Description
ENIGMATICA ENTERTAINMENT & BOSEVUS PRODUCTIONS are proud to present Victoria the premium ska event of fall when we throw down the SKA FALL CLASSIC WEEKEND 2004!
Saturday, November 20th @ Gary Oak Room (SPECIAL ALL AGES CONCERT)We are proud to feature an awesome night of ska, reggae, punk, Latin, jazz &, soul. I think we got all the genres in there:)
LOS FURIOS (Latin/ska/reggae/punk) from Vancouver!
Los Furios is a 6-piece Latin ska band from Vancouver. Their music is broadly influenced and in their repertoire as you can find such other styles like rocksteady, punk, and reggae. Their music portrays different concepts, among them unity, love, and respect. Fans refer to their shows and presence as ³a party on stage²; with high-energy Latin breakdowns, catchy punk choruses, and reggae/ska jams thrown about their songs. That all said, you are sure to shake some booty, cheer some beers, and sing a few lines during their set. Los Furios completed another Canadian tour in September 2004 teaming up to play shows with ska greats such as the Pietasters, The Toasters, The Planet Smashers. Their new album Warning Shot is getting rave reviews all over Canada and the US. They have been greeted with warm receptions each and every place they have played. Ska with the spicy feel of Latin music…
THE HOOCHY GIRLS (Party ska from Victoria!)
The Hoochy Girls (9 piece high energy ska band) have been going strong for three years playing all sorts of all age and club shows. The band will be happy to have back their tenor saxophone player Andy Bishop to round out the Hoochy Girl family! Members of the Hoochy Girls have been involved with a number of musical ensembles in the past year including backing Jamaican ska/reggae legend Strangejah Cole & having members in the VISA Ska Jazz Orchestra. Always fun, always ready to party come and see a bit part of Vancouver’s Island ska scene on
DIPLOMATIC IMPUNITY (formally Ten Too Late)
Diplomatic Impunity is a revised project of the late band Ten too Late. Now the 8-piece band has chosen to explore more of ska’s roots by adding more roots oriented ska into their set. All the members of the band have been very active in the all ages ska scene playing shows all over Vancouver Island for over two years.
Remember this is only a CD release party for Los Furios' new release "WARNING SHOT"
