The movie Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, a cult classic based off of the comic books, can arguably be said that it has the best soundtrack of all time.

Curated by Nigel Godrich who is known for working with Radiohead, Beck, Idles and more, it’s no wonder that there’s a tribute band dedicated to bringing the live soundtrack experience to fans - which is you! Tell us more about how you became the Scott Pilgrim, the movie, the soundtrack, the concert tribute band?

Tae: One night at an open mic we all played Black Sheep together and we joked that we should do the whole movie next, and then we did. We're all big fans of the movie - we could basically quote the whole thing before this was even an idea. We started at our local 100 capacity bar and a lot of people came out so it kept getting bigger. Doing a tour feels like the final boss.

What are your members favourite tracks on the album? To listen to and to play?

Spen: I like playing Sleazy Bed Track. Listen to - No Fun
Tae: To listen to - By Your Side, to play... It's Getting Boring By The Sea
Donnie: [Had to remove answer due to spoilers.]
Päter: I still have Sleazy Bed Track in my regular rotation and to play... our rendition of Slick.

You’ve done something really cool, not only are you stopping in Kingston as part of the Kingston Canadian Film Festival (web link) but you’ve made this a tour, in which you’ve opened up a Battle of the Bands for openers in select locations. How well was that idea received? We absolutely adore it.

Päter: We did this for Lee's too! We were trying to decide on an opener (previously we had a magician) and thought this would be the most in the vibe of the show. It's been great to see bands from all the cities be as into it as us, we can't wait to listen to everyone.

Which one of you is most like Michael Cera?

Donnie: I'm both Michael Ceras in Youth in Revolt.
Spen: I wanna be Arrested Development Michael Cera
Tae: I'm very much This Is The End Playlist Michael Cera
Päter: I'm Michael Cera in his secret album drop era.

What can Kingston concert goers expect from your show on February 26 at the Broom Factory? (web link)

Spen: Thrills chills and automobiles - a crazy time.
Donnie: Don't write that down.
Päter: Favs, surprises, and favprises.
Tae: I'm Neil. Posted: Feb 11, 2025
