Live music in Kingston cancelled until at least mid-January
Today, premier Doug Ford
announced modifications to Step Two of Ontario's Roadmap to Reopen that restricts live music performances as of January 5 until at least January 17, 2022. These restrictions apply to indoor concert venues, theatres, cinemas across Ontario, including Kingston. Details of the announcement state that rehearsals and recorded performances will be permitted, but “with restrictions.”
In remarks to members,
Canadian Live Music Association president and CEO, Erin Benjamin, mentioned the organization is “seeking clarity” on restrictions around rehearsals and recorded performances, as well as, “...what provincial business supports are in motion to help offset the financial impact for businesses and workers.”
As a result, live music listings on the Kingston Live website will updated to reflect cancelled or postponed performances.
Many other restrictions were also announced, including to schools, recreational facilities and workplaces, all of which can be found
here.
