Kingston's favourite punk-brats, The Meringues, released a saucy new single today. Shambles will be the first single from the band's forthcoming 11-track album Pavlova's Dog, due out September 16, they announced in an email announcement. With the new LP, The Meringues promise to, "…continue to explore the intersection of fun and dysfunction that we've kinda come to be known for," stated the announcement.

The announcement email also contained images of the Pavlova's Dog album cover and track listing. The pre-release single, Shambles, was recorded at: Metalworks Studios, (Mississauga, Ontario), Todd's Place (Harrowsmith, Ontario) and Fake Cake Lodge (Kingston, Ontario). The song was mixed by Ian Docherty and mastered by Elisa Kady Pangsaeng at CPS Mastering.

The Meringues will be opening for international punk legends D.O.A. when the Vancouver band visits Kingston for a show at The Broom Factory on September 12. The announcement detailed that vinyl copies of Pavlova's Dog will be available for purchase at that event, four days ahead of its official release date. "It will be the first time we've ever had Meringues songs on vinyl!" the band remarked. Posted: Jul 15, 2024
