Skeleton Park Arts Festival is gearing up for its nineteenth celebration on June 22nd and 23rd, 2024, set in the charming environs of McBurney Park and its surrounding areas in Kingston, Ontario. Timed with the summer solstice weekend, this beloved neighborhood festival is a beacon of community spirit and artistic excellence, offering free access to a medley of performances that span genres like reggae, Caribbean, country, folk, Celtic, and Anishinaabe-Canadian.

This year, festival-goers can look forward to an impressive lineup of local, national, and international talents. Notable performers include the JUNO-nominated Kobo Town, Anishinaabe-Canadian alt-rock ensemble Status Non Status, Kingston's own Iranian Santur virtuoso Sadaf Amani, and reggae sensations The Human Rights. Also taking the stage will be alt-country singer-songwriter Justin Rutledge, along with the Undertow Brass Band, who are set to spearhead the much-anticipated Porch Jazz Parade through the Skeleton Park area. Additionally, the Department of Illumination will be hosting engaging family activities, including a giant boxtopia pirate ship!

Besides the rich musical offerings, the weekend will also feature an array of local food stalls, collaborative web link activities, community organization booths, and an Artisan Market curated by The Fat Goose Collective from 10 AM to 5 PM on both days.

The Skeleton Park Arts Festival not only highlights exceptional artistry but also fosters a strong sense of community throughout the year with events like the popular free community newspaper, The Skeleton Press.
